Alabama Slamma

Hello Ploggers Howdie Doo. Hope you are having a great week. The longer I am at my new job, the more I am learning and getting higher up on the bell shaped learning curve. Every day is better than the last. I am learning the people that I work with little by little. They party a lot and often bring in food 🍕 and snacks for any reason. I love that. They are smart, outspoken and somewhat liberal, or so it seems.

So today we laughed and shared memes and videos about the ⛵️ boat brawl in Alabama. It was great. We are all fairly glued to our phones and we saw the many many jokes, skits and retelling the fight that we all saw. It started with Ricky Smiley this morning on📻 FM Radio. He acted out a whole skit where they went to heaven and asked people like Martin Luther King what he thought of the brawl. Of course his answer was comical and right on point.

I also saw a TikTok about the irony of the Boat brawl taking place on the site of a previous slave chattel marketplace. Of course the outcome was different during slavery than yesterday’s brawl. In slavery, we had no recourse and were controlled by violence and force. If we wanted to fight, we were unable to. When we saw injustice we were powerless. We started out every day as the subhuman underdog. We never stood a chance against guns and our enslavers.

But fast forward to present day. The black security guard tried to use his authority to advise white boaters that they needed to move their boat. Things immediately turned ugly and violent. This is not an unusual descent into a melee, but the outcome was different. There was someone recording the whole thing. Rather than move their boat the white people started throwing punches. We were able to see the black people use cohesion and to physically overpower the white people. The white victims even went to the local 🏥 hospital and were displeased with the number of black employees they encountered in their time of medical need. They had the nerve to call the police over this racial imbalance at that hospital. WTF. You were just in a brawl because you wouldn’t do what was asked. You suffered injuries from a cohesive group of black people which included a 🏊‍♀️ swimmer. Now you need medical help and you complain because there are too many black people working at the hospital. WTF??

Anyway the irony of this situation is not lost on me at all. I will continue to watch this video and savor the fact that “this time” we collectively said NO, NOT TODAY. RECLAIM!

** Addendum**

While standing in line for TSA yesterday I saw a white male with a T-shirt that said "try that is a small town". I felt fairly sure that he had a small d*ck. RECLAIM
