Hello ploggers. I hope this evening finds you at peace and feeling great. Today I have been reminiscing about the life and songs of Olivia Newton John. I remember when she first came on the scene way back in the 1970’s. She was super pretty, had a voice like a bird and the kids at Geneva High School loved her. I am sad that she died of recurrent breast cancer. She fought it successfully for years, even decades. Although I never saw Grease until recently, I knew all the words to her big songs from the movie. When someone is that popular, you kind of expect them to live a long time. But cancer doesn’t know that rule. 😢 In the way of a reminder ladies check your breasts and do your Mammograms, please. I have noticed that the Breanna Taylor case has gotten back into the news. Merrick Garland has made several announcements about it which I found very interesting. The question is “Why did it take so long?” the girl died March 13, 2020. The announcement of the arrests of the cops came out around August 5, 2022. WTF???
We all know the story of Breanna, but it merits repeating. She was killed in her bed, sound asleep by the police in Kentucky on a “no knock” warrant. She and her family never got any justice. I always felt it was a political, really dirty deal. The Governor of Kentucky at the time was a Democrat and no friend to B*tch McConnell. The District Attorney and local officials were Republicans and buddies of B*tch. I always felt that B*tch put the Kaybosh on doing anything substantive with the case. Another reminder why it is so important to vote, even in small local elections. At the time of the shooting, 45 was the President. 45 and Bill Barr certainly never showed any interest in the situation. Now here we are two plus years later and we hear that there was a massive cover up by the police involved. The 4 cops are charged with civil rights violations, conspiracy, use of excessive force, and obstruction. It turns out that 3 of the officers lied in order to get the warrant. The officers also conspired to mislead state, federal and local authorities who were investigating the incident. So the case turned out to be worse than just accidentally killing an innocent woman in her bed while she slept. There were lies and a cover up. It seemed purposeful. Corrupt and bloodthirsty cops, one of them was a woman. It is one of the worst situations I can imagine in 2020. If you put this murder scenario back in 1955, the out-come would have stuck with no further investigation and surely no indictments. That is what happened to Emmett Til. Let that sink in. These 4 cops almost got off Scott free just like Carolyn Dunham Bryant has done. Whoever, the power players in Kentucky were, they wanted things to proceed, business as usual 1955 style. They wanted it to quietly go away. And it almost did, except for Merrick Garland.
God Bless Breanna and her family. They have been wronged in the worst way. It seems as if the police had it out for her. Since she was a Paramedic, she may have known some of them. They often work together. Let's see what facts come out. A very sad day 😢 . I chose a smiling picture of her. I have heard that she was proud of her career. Her chubby cheeks look like so many young women I see on a daily basis. She is not that different from any of us.
