Faith and Freedom Coalition

Howdie Pardners, How are you doing? Hope you are doing well. Today is a sleepy day for me. I think my body needed the rest and I am glad to be able to get it. The air quality here has been bad due to the 🔥 wildfires in Canada. They are advising staying inside and not running A/C. Yikes, climate change is real.

I recently have been hearing about the Faith and Freedom Coalition. It amazes me how I have never before heard of these well-organized conservative support groups. One f the perks of doing this Plog is the information I gain. Last year I heard and Plogged about the Conservative C-PAC and their summer soiree. I also learned and Plogged about the NRA Convention. The guest lists and Agendas are fascinating. This particular conservative and faith based group is having a conference in Duluth, Georgia from June 22-24, 2023. So now. The conference is known as the largest public policy gathering of conservative and ✝️ Christian activists in the country. The Google definition is that they are a PAC composed of evangelical supporters, mostly from the Republican Party. The theme this year is "the road to majority". They are a 501c non-profit organization. Despite their non profit status their 2021 amended tax return showed a measly $6,369,595 💵 in net assets. The Executive Director Timothy Head earned $259,532. Other officials of the organization earned lesser amounts, but the secretary, treasurer and chairman are all earning $0. Another top heavy, profitable organization.

But more about the FFC. They are giving a Lifetime Achievement Award to Mike Huckabee. The list of attendees and speakers includes only Republican elected officials or personalities. Most of them are white but a few are black. There was Larry Elder, Tim Scott, Mark Robinson Ltn. Gov. of North Carolina, and Winsome Sears Ltn. Gov of Virginia. Some of the guest speakers seem downright hypocritical. For some reason I don't think of religious devotion when I think of the likes of🐀Kari Lake,🐍 Jeanine Pirro or 🐲 Jim Jordan. Although I do see religion as a personal choice, this conference seems to be a must for conservatives for purely political reasons.

The 📣 speaker who gave the most memorable speech was Chris Christie. He spoke some hard truths about 45 and he is the only Republican willing to do that. It makes him a stand out in the field of Republican Presidential hopefuls. I find it interesting that the party of white supremacy, homophobia, anti-immigration, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and more hate can gather themselves at a religious conference. They are quite duplicitous in their political stances as purveyors of hate. But almost simultaneously they gather together for public religious/political purposes. I don't get the contrast but I do see the hypocrisy. I think that the FFC is more of a political necessity to appease the Evangelical base than anything else. Its like a democratic candidate coming to visit a black ⛪️church. Pure 🎭 theater and symbolism. Consider this: the first name and picture on the list at the FFC a faith based event was recently found liable for Sexual Assault in a court of law. That name and picture was of 45. Go figure and RECLAIM
