Fighting the Good Fight(s)

Hello Ploggers, how are you. I am hoping that you are well. I am sitting here with my beautiful cat who insists on putting his wet nose on my naked arm. I don’t like the cold wet nose but I love the beautiful 🐱 kitty who is purring and staying close by me.

I am in the learning process again and that is a great thing. I am supporting two really big political issues in the State of Ohio. Numero Uno I am fighting the Ohio legislators who are trying to pass Senate Joint Resolution 2. The Senate bill would raise the bar to a 60% vote instead of a majority for any constitutional amendments to pass. The legislation would also require signatures from residents in all 88 counties instead of 44. The law would also remove the 10 day cure time if some signatures were found to be illegal. That bill was supported largely by Republicans in the Ohio house. One lone Republican voted no on this issue. Democratic Ohio legislators spoke out against this law. This matter will be on the ballot on August 8, 2023. This measure will directly affect the abortion rights issue in the November general election. So my job is to 📣 spread the word and make sure we all vote on August 8, 2023. Funny how they want to enact this change after over 100 years of using the 50 plus 1% majority now that reproductive rights are coming up on the ballot. Since 1912 Ohio has used the simple majority rule. That has been the rule for 111 years. It is like a game of Chess. Trying to set yourself up for victory of a specific issue. But I feel it is dangerous because there will be other issues in the future. It will be difficult to pass anything in a state with a 60% Super majority requirement. A vote for that resolution is a vote to rob the people of any chance to make a legal change. It is a dirty trick on the people. It is asking us to drown 🌊 ourselves using our own 🔱 anchors. The writers of this law are diabolically 👹 evil. I am speaking of Ohio, but fear that other states are doing the same thing.

Numero duo I am trying to get my name and as many others as I can convince to sign on the petition for abortion rights to be on the ballot in November. People have strong feelings about abortion rights, but most don't want to lose rights we already had. Not to even mention bodily autonomy and medical decision making being between a woman and her doctor. Trying to control other people besides oneself is fundamentally wrong! STOP 🚫 IT! If you oppose abortion, simply don't have one, OK 👌 . There is a website protectchoiceohio.com The ballot issue is called The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety. They are helping me to help the fight.

When I started looking online I found several places that are local where I can go (tomorrow) and sign a petition for the issue to be on the ballot. I will bring the petition home (if I can) for my daughter and others to 📝 sign. From what I can tell, they have times and places to pick up and drop off petitions. The locations are tied to festivals and summer parades and populated events. I am actually signed up for a 3⌚️ hour span tomorrow. Some of the dates are through the week when I will be working so they didn’t work for me. I am just hoping it goes smooth. I will keep you posted and let you know where you can support women’s reproductive rights in Ohio. I will also publish the information on Tiktok so keep tuned. This is the first time I have ever done this. That Dobbs case has motived me in many ways. This particular issue has inspired me to get out and to be way more actively political. I have to put my money where my👄 mouth is. I am hoping that others will do the same. Wish me💚 luck and RECLAIM!
