God Save the Queen, I mean King

Hello Ploggers, how are you. I am enjoying my Saturday. I ended up spending significant time in the yard🌿 but that is not a chore for me. I love gardening and being outside. It takes the sting out of being inside all the time. I was raised outside and find it to be very therapeutic.

When I woke up this morning there was constant coverage about Charles and Camilla being crowned king and queen of England. I am way less than impressed by it. I am sure that the 💂English are very excited about it, but it is far from removed from my very real life. Here are some reasons why I am not interested in the new King.

-King Charles was unfaithful to Princess Diana Spencer. Many Americans loved Princess Diana. She danced with John Travolta and was an American favorite. Charles was cold to her and cheated on her with his now Queen Consort Camila. Although Diana is long gone, I will never forgive Charles for that behavior.

-The Church of London had way too much to do with the Trans-Atlantic Slave trade. The English were Colonizers and profiteers of American and English slavery. The misery that they caused and benefited from is despicable. Jewels were stolen and adorn the crown that Queen Elizabeth wore from formal occasions. They never even apologized.

-The idea of a monarchy is as antiquated as can be. The idea of blue blooded versus red blooded humans is ridiculous to me. The blood of my family and I is as good as any other’s. When it comes to bleeding, trauma and circling the drain of ⚰️death, the only requirement for blood is that it is the same Type. Blue blood be damned!

So my take on the Royals is very pedestrian. They are just people like the rest of us. I think Charles and Camilla look like the actors from the 70’s margarine commercials. The actors turned instantly royal when they bit the toast 🍞 with the right dairy spread on it. As they lowered the clunky crowns on their heads both Charles and Camilla looked like they wanted to adjust it for comfort. I would have thought they would have fitted the crowns to their specific dimensions. Oh well RECLAIM.
