Happy Holidays
Hello Ploggers, how are you doing? I hope things are getting better each and every day. Things are different but not impossible. Very different. Work helps me a lot to temporarily forget about the political mess that has happened to us. The holidays are upon us and we will be busy. I am setting the bar low as far as what I am willing to do. It has to be things that I enjoy or else.
Last month was Thanksgiving and I hope it was joyful. We had many people over for🍗 dinner. I cleaned, food prepped and got ready for the day in a relaxed fashion. I did a little, then I took breaks. Its way less stressful than busting through everything at once. I seem to not resent it as much and that is important. That Friday was so called “Black Friday”. I never liked that name. I have never gone shopping on that night. We go to family who has their dinner on Friday to accommodate other family. We always end up with two days of eating and Yum. The Holiday Season for 2024 had official begun Whoo Hoo! We are in the thick of it and should be enjoying it.
There is not much we can do about the election but we can learn from our history. Money💸 is power. The Montgomery🚌 bus boycott was an effective tool. Many friends on TikTok are talking about a Boycott on Black Friday and in general. So instead of it being the biggest shopping day ever with higher and higher record sales, it lays an🍳 egg. In specific certain retailers are targeted to be boycotted. Stores and CEO’s that heavily supported 45 are the targets for boycott. There are too many to name them all but the BIGGEST ones are Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot, Chick Fil A and Hobby Lobby. Walmart has already announced price hikes next year due to tariffs. Walmart, John 🚜Deere and The🚜 Tractor Store have already dialed back their DEI efforts in response to this election. As far as I can tell, they did this voluntarily. There may have been pressure applied internally.
Doing the holiday thing this year will be a little different. The holidays are a joyful time and I refuse to take less joy than other years. That is not going to happen. Joy✨ to the World, good🍗 food, fun and loved ones are the hallmarks of this season. I will try hard to keep a joyful attitude. I know that you will too. Happy Thanksgiving.
