Hispanic Latino WTF???

Hello Ploggers, how are you all. I am hoping that the mothers in this group are all pampered after our well-deserved holiday. The Monday after, most of us went back to being inš charge of everything and business as usual. I know I did. A holiday since 1905, it has become one of my favorites. It nicely brings in the š£ springtime,š» flowers, gardening and the march onto Memorial Day the official start of summer. Here in North east Ohio it was a šØ chilly 50 degree high today. I even heard the weather guy say something about a possible frost coming soon. Whatever! A few last gasps of winter I guess. I thought that since I have cut the grass twice that we were well on the way to sunnyš warmth.
But I have another issue at the top of my mind tonight. I am looking for some answers to some burning questions I have about Hispanic people as a whole. I am thinking about people like Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, Texas shooter Mauricio Garcia and young white supremist Nick Fuentes. I am aware that there is a difference between Latinos and Hispanics. There are big differences between Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Cubans, South Americans, Nicaraguans, Brazilians and more. The language is Portugese rather than traditional Spanish for many South Americans. So, I am not at all lost to the fact that the entire group has lots of individual differences. I study the Spanish language daily online and am proud to be able to speak a small amount of the language. But what I want to know is when any of the Hispanic/Latino group decided to pass for White and become the worst kind of far right, nationalistic racists? That is quite a trick to be in that group while also being a brown, non-white minority. Are they not part of BIPOC? Are they not brown? Are they not non-white? I donāt get it. Did they have to change who they were in order to become white supremists? How did they do that? Weren't their inner minds screaming at them "you are not white", "your ancestors were targeted in the same ways you are doing now to others"
Months ago my nephew ā¤ļøā¤ļøāš©¹John told me that he saw this group as rising to power and becoming very aligned with traditionally white racism. He was a history teacher and was very smart. That is a question I can no longer ask šhim. I guess I will have to figure it out myself. I notice that more and more people seem to turn against their own selves in search of power. Anyway, I will be mindful of this emerging dynamic and question things more. It is scary that a "newer" villian may be on the rise for all of us who don't fit the trend. I think that hatred and power have arisen to the point where it can come from anywhere. I say Beware and Be Careful. The vectors of hate are changing their faces. It is not safe to make assumptions about anyone these days. Just let people show you who they are. Stay safe and RECLAIM!
