How do we fight back?

Hello Plogmates, LOL, how are you. I know that you are playing fast and loose with you😵r sanity and probably having🌀 whiplash with all the changes on the national level. There are national changes that affect our everyday lives. None of us should feel shielded from the sites of DJT’s revenge gun. 45/47 has had four long years to plot revenge on the country and anyone who disagrees with him. It appears that he is not above hurting his own supporters and those who supported him. I have seen many people who voted for him and now wish that they hadn’t because of the direct damage they have suffered at his hands. There are way too many individual Executive Orders with their mal intent to list them here. But in my optimistic way, I would like to talk about what we can do to fight back. Feeling helpless and inert are not my personal style. Lets get into it!

I realize it is a David and Goliath proportioned task at hand. I am not even advocating that we go out and march in the streets or write letters to our representatives. Those things are still options, but I am looking for more. One of the things that I am doing is shopping VERY strategically. I will not shop at places that heavily supported 45/47’s campaign financially.  Additionally I will not shop at places that have rolled back DEI, whether voluntarily or from pressure. At the top of that list is Walmart, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Sephora, Chick Fil A, Amazon, McDonalds and so on. It does make it difficult, but money talks. Target got sued by its shareholders when they rolled back DEI due to a drop in stock value. Companies like Costco, Aldi’s and Chipotle neither contributed nor rolled back their DEI. BIG👏 KUDOS👏 TO THEM!

There are also things taking place that we can👀 monitor. Here are a few. There are lots of lawsuits being filed by the ACLU, NAACP, EEOC, and NLRB challenging the legality and constitutionality of these Executive Orders. Another thing I saw was some Democratic Senators and House members are making a bi📣g noise about the illegality of Elon Musk being allowed the clearance he has with the DOGE. They are saying that Musk is not elected to any public office. Leading House Democrat Hakeem Jeffries and leading Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer have proposed a bill to restrict Musk. If they can leverage a few Republicans, they will succeed. The House has 435 members with 218 of them being Republicans and 215 Democrats. I see this struggle as doable but not within our immediate power. But at least it is hopeful.

There are so many things that are out of our control. But we do absolutely need to buy food and goods on the regular. We should make our money speak for us politically. RECLAIM
