Isnt it Ironic

Plog Number 161

Justice Alito

Hello Ploggers how are you. I am hoping that you are using your sense of humor when dealing with some of the political things we hear about on a daily basis. How do you all like IRONY? I am a big fan of it. I like to observe it and point it out. Irony is when things happen in direct opposite of what some would have us think was going to happen. 😣It’s ironic because no one saw it coming. The definition of irony is the expression of ones meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for 😂humorous or emphatic effect. Another definition is a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is amusing as a result. Allanis Morrisette even wrote a song about it. .🎶..isn't it ironic.🎶..?

Let me give you an example of judicial irony. Last June Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito wrote the Dobbs decision which overturned Roe v. Wade and ended 52 years of women’s Reproductive Rights in this country. Alito (a Bush appointee) was the writer of the opinion and the effect was huge. He has become a household name and even made some off color racial jokes that went public. He joked about the KKK in oral arguments. He seems like an utterly charmless man.

More recently Alito has been manning his Fifth Circuit docket. The states he is in charge of are Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The Texas part is where it gets interesting. When Matthew Kacsmaryk👎 of Texas Northern District Court handed down such a bad and illegal decision irony set in. Kacsmaryk’s decision stepped on Federal Agency authority and out lawed the use of a drug that had been approved for 23 years. The Biden administration appealed the decision and that Texas decision was stayed 🚫 until further notice. The writer ✏️ of this opinion which upholds the use of Mifepristone an abortion inducing drug was Justice Samuel Alito. The same Samuel Alito who wrote and possibly leaked the dreadful Dobbs decision. So in 2022 he wrote the opinion in the Dobbs case that removed the right to surgical abortion on a federal level and left it up to the states. But in 2023 he wrote the opinion that said it was legal to use an abortion pill. To me that is the sweetest🍭 irony. It also smacks of having to eat your words. The Dobbs decision has made it difficult for Republicans to win elections. The majority of Americans support a women’s right to choose.

SCOTUS DECISION AUTHOR POLITICAL RESULTS

2022 ABORTION IS BANNED NATIONALLY Alito REPUBLICANS LOSE ELECTIONS

2023 ABORTION PILL IS LEGAL (for now) Alito REPUBLICANS CANT AFFORD TO

LOSE ANY MORE ELECTIONS

It is so ironic and I enjoy irony, so RECLAIM!
