Nebraska

And

South Carolina

Hello Ploggers, Happy May, 2023. I pray that May is easier than April was. I am pretty sure it will be! For sure, there will be morešŸ’ flowers and ā˜€ļø sunshine. I am hoping for more outdoor walks, more šŸ˜Ž sunglass wearing and less heavy coat wearing and more sun beams. I guess in my own African American way, I am a sun worshipper.

When it comes to the fight for abortion rights, there are some States who are making headway. The positive decisions are coming from Republican lawmakers both male and female. In Nebraska it was Merve Riepe who abstained from a vote that would have allowed the vote to go forward and surely be voted down. Riepe felt that 6 weeks was such an early time and wouldnā€™t allow many women to know they were even pregnant. He actually used common sense. Good for him. Heavy sarcasm!

Meanwhile over in South Carolina there were 3 Republican women who voted against a strict abortion ban. One of those women spoke out about her fiscal conservatism and social rights where she doesnā€™t feel as conservative. She stated, correctly that she doesnā€™t believe in abortion for herself but has no say in the lives of other women. How did Republicans get so smart? Good for them. Heavy sarcasm with eye rolls! šŸ˜µ

I think that these Republicans are simply listening to Ann Coulterā€™s words of wisdom. They are also looking at their losing stature in political races. While most Republicans thought they could blindly follow along with the Not so Supreme court's horrible Dobbs decision, some are seeing past that. If they had asked me I would have told them that their position was a losing one. I would have told them that they were awakening many sleeping giants. I would have told them that people like Lyndsay Graham should not be deciding anything about women and their pregnancies. Letā€™s hope a few more see the light and stop following what the Not So Supreme Court gave to them. The Court is compromised and so are they if they follow them down the rabbit hole.

Here is to more legislators seeing the inevitable šŸ”¦ light. RECLAIM!
