Ohio is Purple

Hello Ploggers, how are you. I must admit to feeling pretty good tonight. Things are not as bad as I was afraid they might turn out. Actually things turned out very well. Without bragging I must take time to🎇 celebrate the passage of Issue 1. Now Reproductive Rights will be forever enshrined in the State’s Constitution. If Lyndsay Graham and his ilk try to do a National ban, the people of Ohio have already spoken. It will be difficult to override the will of the people. Ohio has joined the ranks with Kansas, Michigan, New Jersey, California, Washington State, Oregon and Connecticut. All these states have access to legalized abortions and now so does Ohio👍 .

We still have people like Vivek 👎Ramiswamy, JD 👾 Vance and Jim 💩 Jordan to embarrass us nationally, but we are making progress in the right direction. The saying is that as Ohio goes, so goes the country. We are always referred to as red, but I would say that we are at least purple. Purple is my favorite color. Red has never been my favorite color.

Remember the Special Election in August? the architects of that effort knew the polling numbers in the state. They tried to raise the threshold for any State Constitutional Amendment to 60%. Now that the election is over and we have numbers to examine, lets take a look. Issue 1 passed by 56.6%. If the 60% threshold issue had passed in August, Issue 1 would not have passed yesterday because it got less than 60% of the vote. The issue was strong 💪 and unifying. People across all spectrums were in favor of the issue. I believe that the Supreme Court may have given Biden and all Democrats a leg up on their Republican competitors. Stripping women of their rights has Republican ownership. But this issue did not pass easily. Many people got out and worked hard for this result. We were motivated by the Dobbs decision. We got loud and we did what women do. We got together and we made a difference.

So, the politics will keep on politicing. We will keep on living, dying, working and interacting. I feel like we got back a little of what we lost from Dobbs. So for this moment I will rest easy in that we really did 😆 RECLAIM!!
