On the Precipice
Hello Ploggers, How are you. I hope that you are all doing well and staying warm this January. My heart goes out to much of the country and the world. There are Wildfires, Mudslides, Polar Vortexes, Tsunami watches and the downfall of American Democracy. How is that for a bitter bunch of💊 pills. Let’s get into it.
For this post, I don’t have any answers. I don’t. I just say “hold on”, “take care of yourself”, “stay away from the media”, “embrace your faith”, “eat healthy foods”. “get some physical activity”, “take some deep breaths”. Do whatever you need and like to do. We are all different and take solace from different things. Get yours!
I have always talked about Tiktok and as of this evening January 18, 2025 it is coming to an end. I feel it is a big loss. It was a nice way to communicate with like-minded people. It was a nice way of expression. It was a nice way to find validation and information. But the argument has gone all the way through both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court. At every turn there was another blow to the app. Many of us are resigned to the fact that the app is gone. The feeling of powerlessness is palpable!!
There are many Government lobbyist groups. One particular group is called AIPAC American Israel Public Affairs Committee. They are powerful and many people who believe that they paid off different members of Congress and the Senate to end Tiktok. Both Democrats and Republicans take money from AIPAC. They are a💲 wealthy and powerful group. I believe they had a lot to do with the Tiktok ban but I doubt they were the only ones. Too many people didn’t want us doing our “peer journalism”. They want us to only rely on the Legacy Media with their biased news.
Whomever is to blame, it is obvious that our Freedom of Speech and a Free Press is withering on the🌿 vine. I cant tell if I am more afraid or saddened by our future white nationalistic Oligarchy. Project 2025 was indeed a “Concept of a Plan”. Our reproductive rights are a thing of the past. Civil and Voting Rights are right on the chopping block. SMH and WTF. I have few words…but stay💪 strong and RECLAIM
