Political theatre with a side of racism

Hello Ploggers, how are you. I hope you are happy, safe and warm. I have been getting through the cold winter months day by day as I look forward to the Springy weather. I place a lot of value in living life day to day. That is a way to take away much of the pressure. But I can’t help but look towards the future as I plan ahead. I think it is just part of the female DNA to try to plan things. Sometimes I feel that God upends our plans and laughs at our effort to make them.

I wanted to talk about the last few 📚 books that arrived at my local library. The titles of the last three books are “Chit Chot Chabbot”, “My two Moms and Me”, and “My two Dads and Me”. The books are sweet, charming, inclusive and totally appropriate. I would like to sit down with anyone who finds these books objectionable and have a dialog about it. Once again I can see that kids live in the types of households that these books talk about. I can see that it would be beneficial to them to see stories that mirror their lives. That is probably why the books were written, at least in part.

So after reviewing all 12 of the banned books for kids living in the state of Florida by their Governor Ron De Santis, I am confident in saying that the whole “anti-woke, CRT”, rejection of African American history for College Board is purely Political theatre with a side of racism. De Santis has gone even farther in his attempt to cover up true American History. In an affirmative attempt to control higher education he has appointed six members to the New College of Florida Board Of Trustees. These appointees are subject to approval by the Florida Senate.

One of the 6 appointees is Christopher Rufo a conservative film maker who is an Anti CRT pioneer. He came to light in 2020 during the pandemic. He has worked in television on the Fox network Tucker Carlson Tonight and The Ingraham Angle shows. He has been instrumental in leading the fight against CRT being taught in American Institutions. He has had an influence in a Presidential order and drafted legislation in fifteen states fighting against CRT. He has worked with conservative governors and lawmakers to craft successful public policy in this area. He also opposes teachers discussing LGBTQ issues. No wonder they want to ban books like My two Moms/Dads and Me. So we know where he stands on the issue and why he was chosen. The other 5 pending appointees are Matthew Spalding Ph.D, Charles R. Kesler Ph. D, Mark Bauerlein Ph.D, Debra Jenks, and Jason “Eddie” Speir.

So, let’s stay informed about this and other issues. As I learn about things of interest I will always pass them onto my readers. Read and RECLAIM!
