Plog Number 30

Hello all, I am excited to be writing the 30th installment of my Plog Pam’s log. Even numbers ending in zero are usually big achievements in my mind. I thank all of you for reading. If you read them all or just a few, I appreciate your time. I try to keep the plogs short, full of facts, politically relevant and accurate. I sometimes refer from Plog to Plog to tie things together. My goal is to support women and to spread the word. So with that being said, I will Plog on.

I just called (202)-224-3121 and got the US Senate switchboard. I asked for Senator Rob Portman’s Office and was thanked and immediately connected. The operator was male and extremely nice. When I got to Portman’s office another man answered. I told him what I was calling about. He said that he would pass the message on to the senator on my behalf. He did not offer any opinions, nor did I expect him to. I noticed that I had previously saved the number from another phone call I felt compelled to make. The next call I made was to the first number but a more frenzied female operator sent me to the office of a Congressman in Tennessee’s office. The young man spoke very southern and asked me if Sherrod Brown worked for the Congressman. Ha Ha. I told him that he was a senator from Ohio and he politely gave me the direct number. So beware the operator can send you anywhere they want. But you have to stay focused. I also called Sherrod Brown’s direct number (202)224-2315 and got his voicemail. I pressed Option 1 to give input on legislation. His outgoing message seems to be set up for the purpose of getting our input. I know how I expect Brown to vote, but there is no way I won’t have my say. Especially when it involves a mere phone call. So again, I urge you to voice your opinion and make the phone call.

In general I am appalled at how women are being treated as silly little beings who need to be told how to handle their own bodies. I saw a portion of a TikTok where a woman was saying that there was some incident where a woman could be killed if she dared try to get an abortion. The basis being that it would be in the prevention of murdering the fetus, forget the fact that it was murder of a living adult. It sounds far fetched, but doesn’t all of it? I have not verified any of it. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. But what I do know is that things are moving in the wrong direction. Courtesy of the Theocratic and Conservative Supreme Court, our rights have crumbled from under our feet. Our hope lies in the Federal, State and Local governments. IKR. Our power is in our vote. For those so inclined, making a run at political office is another way to fight. Others of us will organize, inform and keep the word out there. The latter would be me. I will always research and talk about the issues as they come up. At the most, my words will cause action. At the least my words will entertain and inform.

I love and appreciate each of my readers. Thank you for reading my words.
