Santos Buh Bye!!
Hola Ploggers, Como Esta Ustedes Hoy? I am using a little Spanglish for a couple of reasons. One being that I love the idea of learning to speak Spanish. I do Duolingo every day and have since the Pandemic got started. It is a beautiful language. Another reason is that George Santos who I believe is Latino is in actuality a Non-White Hispanic. An actual choice on many Census type demographic documents. I think George should embrace his Latino/Hispanic side and stop using White Power hand signs. But of course there is more. We may not have heard the last of him.
The 3rd vote on HB 878 Santos (Dec, 1, 2023) went like this. 311 to expel 114 to retain and 2 voted present. A two-thirds majority was needed which is 282 votes. All Republican leaders voted to retain him. But it was New York Congressional Republicans who brought the resolution to begin with. 206 Democrats voted for expulsion making this a Bi-Partisan effort. Notable Democrat Jamie Raskin changed his vote to expel after he found out about the blatant misuse of funds for expensive clothes and luxury🛀 lifestyle with no denial or defense from Santos. The findings from the House Ethics committee were pretty damning. California Rep. Katie Porter also changed her vote to expel. Santos is the 6th person to be expelled from Congress. The others are James Traficant, Ohio, John B Clark Missouri, John W Reid, Missouri, Henry Burnett, Kentucky, and Michael Myers, Pennsylvania. The majority of them were expelled due to their defense of the Confederacy.
105 Republicans voted to expel 112 Republicans voted to keep him. 2 Democrats voted to keep Santos. They were Rep Robert Cortez Scott from Virginia and Representative Nikema Natassha Williams from Georgia. Scott is a man of color and has served since 1993. He is African American and Filipino He is on the powerful Education and Labor Committee. Williams is a black woman who was charged as a result of a protest over the Gubernatorial election of Brian Kemp versus Stacey Abrams. Williams was charged with Obstruction and Disrupting the General Assembly. I have not found their reasons as of yet, but suspect they involved the lack of due process. Ohio Democratic Congressional Representatives Beatty, Brown, Kaptur, Landsman, Sykes all voted to expel. Ohio Congressional Republicans Balderson, Carey, Joyce, Latta, Miller, Wenstrup also voted to expel.
Now that he has been ousted, Santos is making flamboyant✨ claims such as “he is the modern day Mary ✝️ Magdalene”, or that he will now go on Dancing with the 🌟 Stars, also that he will write a 📖 book. He is a Grandiose person for sure. That is why I have said we may not have heard the last from him. I need an eye 👀 roll to be inserted here. Santos parting words were "the hell with you." I guess he told us. My parting words to him are "get ready for your case and good riddance you non-white MAGA💩 trash. Have a great day and RECLAIM!
