Plog Number 21

See no evil

Hello to all. Thank you for reading my Plog. It means so much to me. Last time I checked I have 25 email followers and 5 actual Plog subscribers. Yay, That is amazing. This time one month ago I had zero of either. I have even learned that some people read my Plog without signing up for it. That works for me too. I think it is all good. Doing the Plog requires a lot of research on my part but I must admit that I love learning and communicating.

Today I want to talk about black who are racism deniers. Yes, they say these things out loud without choking on the words. I decided that I would use the words of these people rather than infer anything from their conduct. So here goes. In 2018 Kanye West went on record as saying that “400 years of Slavery sounded more like a Choice.” So much is wrong with this. American slavery officially started in 1619 and officially ended in 1865. Do the math it is not 400. Besides that inaccuracy, slaves by nature are not given a choice in their servitude. That is the definition of slavery. WTF?!? How could he say such a denigrating thing about his own ancestors? Ancestors who were kidnapped, suffered, labored, toiled and died without as much as a Thank you. I think that saying that American Slavery was a choice denies the racism that was inherent in the institution.

Moving on to Senator Tim Scott, he said in a Rebuttal “Hear me clearly, America is not a racist country”. Whatever he said after that falls into the category of Blah Blah Blah. While his comment was a tool used to divert attention away from something else, it was racially charged, manipulative and again inaccurate. Kamala Harris went on to argue the point and explain racial disparities for Scott. Evidently he was too busy being a token to speak the truth about the issue. I can not understand how a big, black man like Scott allows himself to be used in that way but he did. Nothing he ever says will be seen as more than Blah Blah Blah in my heart and mine.

On to Clarence Thomas’ words. He is well known as a “Bootstrap Conservative”. Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor is quoted as saying “Justice Thomas believes that every person can pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I believe that some people can’t get to their bootstraps without help”. Thomas earned his law degree as a result of Affirmative Action. He later said that his law degree was worth “fifteen cents” because it was tainted with the Affirmative Action that he benefited from. Not only does he bite the hand that fed him, he wants to keep it away from anyone else who might need it. He also said “there is nothing you can do to get past black skin, I don’t care how educated you are, how good you are at what you do-you’ll never have the same contacts or opportunities, you’ll never be seen as equal to whites.” Talk about a Negative Nelly. When Hillary Clinton described him as dystopic and Unhappy she was right. He seems to have an axe to grind against his own kind and everyone else too.

I have recently heard of a term called "Colorism". I was glad to hear it because it lets me know that other people are seeing what I am seeing. Although I didn't have a name for it, I knew of it and recognized it frequently. Colorism is discrimination against persons of color by other persons of color. A variation of the theme is "Shadeism". That stems back to the slave plantation and darker versus lighter skinned slaves and their place on the plantation. Much of these maladies are psychological and learned behaviors. It is amazing to me that the practices and thoughts from 157 years ago got passed down and are still present today. To me these are some of the Badges and Incidents of slavery, plain and simple.

A quick note about a different kind of denier other than racial. I have been learning more about Amy Cunty Barrett. I have heard that she is a part of some Handmaid Christian group called People of Praise with cult like characteristics. Just what we need on the Supreme Court. I see Barrett as being cunning enough to not write many opinions or show her hand. But what is she hiding? Is she a woman who benefits from it and then turns around and slams women every chance she gets by stripping away rights? So far it looks that way. Perhaps this should be called womenism or gynism or more crassly Cunty. I have not found any official terms for this phenomena yet but I am sure that it exists. I don't have any quotes to put in this section from Barrett because she is closed mouthed. A quiet woman is thinking of ways to get what she wants. That is not being catty, that is just the truth. As I learn more I will plog about it, trust.

It seems to me that we can never overcome any problem if key leaders continue to deny and preach about that denial. You can’t fix something that you think isn’t even a real thing. If you see no evil, you can not fix any evil.

Good Evening Reclaim!
