Stewart Rhodes, Convicted Insurrectionist

Hello Ploggers, how are you. As we head into the 3 day Holiday weekend I am feeling great. Extra time off without having to use PTO time at work is a dream 😎
come true for me. At work today, I was secretly counting down the hours until the day ended. Now I want the time to slow way down.
I saw a story of particular interest on all the major news networks this week. I would like to talk about that story today. The Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes 👎was sentenced to 18 years for seditious conspiracy. Currently he is 58 years old and will be 78 years old when he finished his sentence. He has gotten the longest sentence of any of the 45 followers who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The Judge charged Rhodes as a Terrorist as was recommended by the Prosecution. It would be nice if their evil leader got a similar sentence to this guy since he orchestrated the whole thing.
The US District Judge was Amit Mehta. He felt that Rhodes was unremorseful and would resume his quest as soon as he was released. He even gave Rhodes a chance to express his regret. Rhodes did not comply. Instead he criticized the Prosecution, Decried Joe Biden as President and called himself a political prisoner. The Judge fired back that Rhodes was not prosecuted for his political beliefs. He stated that he was prosecuted for actions offensive against the people of this country. He told Rhodes that he was not a political prisoner. I like this👍 Judge. He was appointed in 2014 which was during the Obama Presidency. The Judge was born in India and educated at Georgetown and the University of Virginia School of Law.
I don’t tend to write about the Insurrectionist as they receive their individual sentences. This particular eye patch wearing thug caught my attention because he was sentenced appropriately. Ex Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio was also convicted of Seditious Conspiracy. I feel like Justice was served for these two, with no Pardons on the horizon. Sometimes things work out in ways that seem fair and to me that is worth acknowledging. RECLAIM
