Thank You Joy Reid
Hello Ploggers, how are you. As I write this, it is Monday and that means the start of a new week. It is a chance to start over and to do better. No one knows if this week could be the major one in your life that is a total game changer. Life can change on a dime. A cloud can turn into a rainbow🌈. Speaking of changes, let’s get into it.
After this last 2024 election, I made some big changes in my life. I felt a lot of😠 emotions and I wanted to find the best way to handle and to protect them. I felt like I had been assaulted and I was not willing to continue on that same road for repeated events. After all, isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing and expecting different and better results? I was clearly not insane @#$%^😵. But I was no longer interested in👀 watching the same network news. I felt that they had let me down. They were not saying what I wanted to👂 hear. I found out MSNBC was owned by Comcast and a Republican and that didn’t sit well with me. The manipulation and half-truths of the news that was obviously censored was no longer for me. Then Joe and Mika went to Maralago and kissed the orange💎 ring and I found myself utterly done with MSNBC. Evidently a lot of people felt that way. The ratings on MSNBC have tanked. I discovered that I preferred peer journalism and NPR. Now we hear that Joy Reid’s show has been cancelled. That is so sad to me.
So several things have happened at MSNBC that lead to the cancelling of the Joy Reid Show known as The Reid Out. The⬇️ drop in ratings. The resignation of Rashida Jones, a black woman as President of the network in January of 2025. The official hiring of Rebecca Kutler, a white woman as of last week to replace Jones as President. A big change in politics that do NOT favor people who look like Joy Reid. You don’t need me to➕ add these pieces together. Joy was outspoken about 47 and this new administration. She has become the voice of non-MAGA supporting America. Our voice has been dimmed. I am afraid it will silenced completely at some point. An outspoken media goes against the direction this country is heading. I no longer watch The View, but I fear it will be on the chopping block.
But this Plog is to thank Joy Reid and her Reid Out for her honesty and for giving a voice to the millions of Americans who are anti 47 and anti MAGA. The winds of change are blowing foul♨️ smoke. I will not go back to network news, but I will👀 look for Joy in another venue. She is talented, smart and famous. I know she will do well. Today is Monday for her too and she has to start anew. Maybe this week will be the game🌈 changer for her. RECLAIM!
