The Brassiest
Howdie Ploggers, how are you. I hope the smoke is blowing your way. We are getting along pretty good in my neck of the woods. April is passing by rapidly and we are warming up way fast. A lovely thing for sure.
I have been watching the antics of Clarence Thomas for years. Ever since George H.W. Bush nominated him, I have been appalled by the mere sight of him. Over the years I have come to have a similar disdain for his wife. She has been shown to be a society boot licker, insurrectionist, racist (yes, even with a black husband), a Karen and a big liar. They are a couple made for each other.
But back to Thomas, he replaced Thurgood Marshall who was a phenomenal black Justice. Thomas has been intentionally and consistently the antithesis of Marshall. Thomas is what we call “Black from a Distance”. You know he is black just at a glance. He is a dark skinned man who has risen to an untouchable status. He is as corrupt as he can be. He is pretty open about it. I don’t see him trying to hide his ways. He is “in your face bold and brassy”. He has used the white conservative establishment to gain a lifetime tenured job. He has married a white female. He has done all of this as a big, blackety black man and dared anyone to smack his hands.
Thomas has been caught in a fake real estate and tax deal with Billionaire Harlan Crow. Apparently he accepted financial gifts from Crow including real estate on which his mother resided.
Some people would say “he has his nerve”. Others would say “he has the balls”. My mother would say “He is a brass assed monkey”. There is a Boondocks character named Uncle Ruckus. He is also a big black man who is self-hating. He is mean. He hates black people. He is ignorant. The brashness of Uncle Ruckus is like Thomas but he is anything but ignorant. Until somebody gets the nerve to challenge him, we are pretty much stuck looking at him live his life in the way that he does. No Impeachment is likely to happen. He will never resign. He is an asset to the Republicans and they need him to uphold the things that he does. So Republicans can not touch him. It is an amazing thing to watch. All I can say is that he is black from a distance and he is the brassiest! Talk about irony. RECLAIM!
