The Origin
Hello Ploggers, friends and family. Once again I want to take the time to thank you for reading my Plog. I started this adventure because I was infuriated with the Supreme Court taking away our rights as women to control our bodies. That Dobbs decision has angered me and many others. I think that many people have been moved to act and vote in response to the Supreme Court Case. Anyway my Plog (Pam’s blog) is my way to vent about the subject of women’s rights. Sometimes I get off on other subjects but I always end with something that we can Reclaim. I try to keep my plogs to 6 minutes of reading time. I was always impressed with the Robert’s Rules of order where they would often say “reclaiming my time”. Hence the name Reclaim. I do appreciate comments, suggestions, and input. My over-reaching goal is to become a Political Influencer and to appear on The View 📺 before Whoopi Goldberg leaves LOL. When I watch Political pundits, I see that they have backgrounds similar to my own. Being an outspoken woman, nurse, ⚖️ attorney, Mom I know that I have lots to say 😤.
I recently learned of a young woman in Louisiana named Nancy Davis. I used to work with a pharmacist by that name, but I digress. The woman is pregnant with a non-viable pregnancy. The fetus has developed without a brain. We used to call that Anacephalia, now it is called Acrania. The condition is not compatible with life. Prior to Dobbs, the choice and advice would be for the woman to determine if she wanted to carry the pregnancy to term or abort. Either way she would not be going home with a viable infant 👶. The whole situation is tragic and a healthcare situation that needs to be dealt with. The only difference now (since Dobbs) is that the women has no choice. At this point Davis is 16 weeks pregnant and she has been advised to get an abortion but due to that State’s ban on abortion she no longer has that option. Davis has said that “Basically they said I had to carry my baby to bury my baby”. The legislators are determining Ms. Davis health care. The situation is horrible but Ms. Davis has Ben Crump as her attorney. He is a well known Civil rights attorney. I would love to see Crump go up against Uncle Clancy Thomas 💣 of the Supreme Court.
I don’t know what will happen to Ms. Davis but there are many other women who are undoubtedly in the same boat. Really, it doesn’t matter your thoughts on if you personally want to have an abortion anymore. It is so much bigger than that. It is having the right to take care of yourself. Imaging you or your daughters or granddaughters being forced to carry a pregnancy that is non-viable and in many cases toxic. Having no control over the best way to treat the problem because other people have decided for you is unthinkable. Especially when the solution is medically sound. Having babies is complicated and every pregnancy does not go according to plan. Please let us allow the doctors and the women to make those difficult decisions. It should not be decided by politicians and legislators. Nor should it be decided by others who are not even remotely involved with that woman or child.
Anyway, I will keep on reading, 💻 writing and researching for my Plog. It is like breathing for me these days. God Bless you all and RECLAIM!!
