The Power of Women

Hello Ploggers, how are you. I hope you are safe through Hurricane Helene. I have seen footage of a lot of damage in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. It basically looks like a big flood. Those of us in Ohio are feeling a little of it. I noticed that our weather went from feeling like June and July to cloudy and spritzy. It hasn’t rained hard but it has felt really muggy and looks really cloudy. I feel for people who are suffering and losing their homes and without power.

A local Ohio tragedy is the rhetoric of some of the political candidates coming from our fair state. But since I have to see it, I feel the need to Plog about it. The things I intend to talk about are “Icky” at best. JD Vance started it by saying that Post-menopausal women should be doing the babysitting for the young children. He actually said that is their place in society. He also said that “Childless🐱 cat women” were making everyone else miserable. With that one he insulted😚 Taylor Swift. He has taken a whallop on that one. Despite public criticism Vance continues to double down on the💩 faulty rhetoric.

Then as if Vance hadn’t exposed enough misogyny, along came Bernie Moreno. He is running for senate against Incumbent Sherrod Brown. Moreno was caught on video at a rally laughing😁 and making disparaging remarks about women over 50. He said that women are one issue voters. That if we cant have abortion whenever we want, we will vote accordingly. He laughed and said that he thought it was crazy and that women over age 50 had nothing to worry about. What???? Yes he said that, with his own, and audience laughter. They had a good laugh at the expense of us “Crazy” over 50 women. Wow, who does that? Or should I ask “Who does that while running for office, where women are voting?” Answer: Republicans do that. They seem to feel they own the market on arrogance. They act as if they will win without women.

Do they just not care that women are half of the population? I firmly believe that unless you know a lot about women and their bodies, you should not be commenting on it publically. At least do a little research first.

Here is an American Indian saying that applies:

At her first bleeding a woman meets her power

During her bleeding years she practices it

At menopause she becomes it.

We may not be bleeding, but we will surely be voting!!!

RECLAIM!
