The Year in Review 2023

Hello Ploggers and Happy New Year 2024. The countdown is on. As I write this it is the 27th of December and I am eyeing and planning what we will be doing on New Year’s Eve. As I did for this year, I decided on a few things I want to do all year to be a better person. My list included 📚 reading more, giving away more to charity, learning new things and using my gratitude journal. Those things were good for me and I think I will continue them for the coming year of 2024. Diet and exercise are always on my agenda, so no use including them. I pray that the year is good to us.

Politically we are in for a big year with the 2024 Presidential election. But I want to look back at some of the big stories of 2023. It was an amazing year for sure. I will just do a brief run down. It is impossible to mention all that was 📰newsworthy but here goes:

New York-👍 Yusef Saleem won his local Council seat as one of the EXEONERATED FIVE!

Ohio- 👍Despite many attempts from Republican legislature, Ohio passed a ballot measure to enshrine reproductive rights into the State Constitution!

Colorado-👍booted 45 from their presidential primary election due to his insurrectionist ways!

Florida-👎 a white woman shot an unarmed black woman when she came to get her child’s computer back. She had looked up “Stand your ground” rules before the police got there :(

Missouri-👎 An older white male shot a 16 year old black youth who accidentally knocked on his door :(

Biden work product-👍13.2 million jobs were added. Unemployment dropped to a 54 year low. U.S. crude oil production increased by 8.2%. Insulin vials capped at $29.00 for seniors in 2022. The PACT act expanded Veteran health care also in 2022. Some Student Debt relief was enacted, despite Republican interference and hypocrisy!

Florida- 👎Governor De Santis waged a culture war on the “woke” ideology and lost. He banned books, changed College Prep curriculum to deny black history. He waged war against Disney resulting in higher prices for families. He stated that Slavery was akin to Vo-Ed school and gave slaves viable trades. He is struggling in the polls against Nikky Hale!

Countrywide-👍Mom’s for liberty candidates lost political races all over the country against candidates willing to fight against book bans and supposed CRT bans in public education:(

Washington DC-👎 The Supreme Court has landed on the wrong side of Affirmative Action :(

Texas-👎The use of the drug 💊Mifepristone was blocked by a 45 appointed judge but simultaneously upheld 👍by an Oregon judge, leaving the battle in limbo.

Maine- 👍Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) barred 45 from their primary ballot also due to his insurrectionist ways!

Washington DC- 👍Congress voted to oust George Santos as their Congressional representative. Santos is a Wannabe white supremist who is not white. Also he has been indicted twice for campaign financial mishandling while using those funds for his luxury lifestyle and to pay his rent !

Washington DC-👍Congress voted to oust Kevin Mc Carthy as speaker of the house and he has said that he wont run for office again. Despite his running to kiss the ring of 45, he is through!

Washington DC-👎 Congressional republicans voted for Mike Johnson from Louisiana as house speaker. He is a pro life theocrat who wants to run the country similar to how things were ran in the Bible :(

New York, Georgia Florida-👍 Jack Smith, Fani Lewis, Letitia James and Alvin Bragg all pursuing 45 for his illegal acts. 91 counts in all!

South Carolina, Kentucky-👍 Black MAGA candidates Tim Scott and Daniel Cameron were unsuccessful in their bids for higher office!

Congress

There are more things than I listed but these are the things that stand out, top of mind. But whatever happened to us in 2023, one thing that was hugely affirming was the ouster👍👍👍 👍👍of fraudster. liar, MAGA loving George Santos from Congress. Things landed on the side of right with that👏 one. I will be here to keep us all updated on current events. So stand by for 2024 and RECLAIM!
