Upside Down Your Turning Me...🎶
Hello Ploggers, hope this finds you in great spirits. I am sitting here with the sun setting in the west and casting beautiful scenes in the front windows. The cats love it too. They bask in it.
I have a few things I want to plog about tonight. One thing is this football player named DeShawn Watson. I am so not a sports follower, but I look at this situation from that perspective. Watson is a Cleveland Brown and when he came to Ohio he came with plenty of controversy and baggage. If you haven’t heard, over 20 women accused him of inappropriate sexual harassment and assault. From what I heard many of the assaults were on massage tables. I guess that while being massaged he liked to expose himself to his female masseurs. Things may have gone further than this, but this act in itself is enough to have made the women feel very violated. I am with these women. I have had a similar experience to this and I know how they felt. But Watson came to the Browns with all of this stuff in an ongoing process. Since the media knew it and talked about it daily, the owners and people who buy the contracts for players had to of known about it. Still they brought him here. Now a final determination has been made and they are suspending him for 11 games and a $5million fine. This is from the National Football League. My question is why on earth would this guy be so well paid that paying $5 million is like kicking out a nickel of his net worth. In my mind people like that should be poor. But if they can play football they are anything but poor. Something is wrong with that system! While nurses and teachers, social workers and others are the backbone of our society, those people earn a modest living. It just doesn’t add up to me. Like I said Upside Down!!
Another thing that bothers me is the whole Liz Cheney thing. I wrote about her in an earlier plog called “And what about Liz Cheney”. I gave credit to her for being smart and straightforward in the effort to call out 45. And she was. But now she has lost her Primary in Wyoming. The woman who she ran against is a Trump backed person named Harriet Hagman. She is far less experienced than Cheney, but still she won. I personally never agreed with Cheney and her policies especially on Abortion rights. But I loved that in her concession speech she vowed to make sure that 45 is never anywhere near the Oval Office again. Even though she lost because of a bully she pledged to keep the fight going. That is very admirable. She could have kept her mouth shut like most republicans and she would still be in office. Again Upside Down!!
So in a world that is kind of Topsy Turvy right now, Sexual deviants twenty times over are super wealthy. They enjoy fame and money and not having to worry about paying the bills. Their lives have evolved to satisfying their higher needs, according to Mazlow. The people they hurt get little satisfaction. They know that he is still wealthy and will probably go on to superstar status if he is any good. His life will prosper except for the 11 games and $5 million dollars. He has a 5 year contract worth $230,000,000. Then there are people like Cheney who worked hard for the right thing, but because her enemies were powerful, she is now knocked off of that platform. She is without a job. Life can be a funny thing! The world can turn upside down.
