We Be Jammin' man
Hello Ploggers, how are you. How are you all? As I thought, July raced out of here and now we are onto August 2023. I am enjoying the summer immensely and hope that you are too. I have started a new job and am on the left side of the learning curve. It is fascinating but daunting. I will keep on plugging, looking forward to the day that I am more expert at my job. It will come.
On July 2, I wrote a plog called On the Black Hand Side. It was extolling the virtues of the 3 black prosecutors working to charge 45. To the esteemed list of Letitia James, Alvin Bragg and Fani Lewis I add District Judge Tanya Chutkan. She is the black woman in charge of the Trump case for January 6. To me this is the biggest and most important case. All of the cases are important and well researched and deserved. But to me the January 6 case is the most important. This is the case where 45 caused the death of 5 American citizens. He indirectly caused the death of FIVE AMERICAN CITIZENS!! But for his actions, 5 American Citizens would still be alive. That is not an everyday thing. It is amazing that people don’t talk about this more.
But back to Jamaican born Judge Chutkan. She attended George Washington University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She was a Public Defender and has had lots of criminal trial experience. She seems to be hard working and not willing to take any guff from 45. She has been harsh in sentencing for other January 6 defendants. She is lifetime appointed and was put on the bench by by President Obama. She already has issued a Protective Order and has denied 45 through council l to continue the matter. I heard that 45 wants to require her to recuse herself. But that is far from a reality. Recusal requires a legitimate reason. So far she seems accomplished, smart and ready to adjudicate fairly in this HUGE case. God Bless you Tanya and keep your mind clear and ready for this case.
