What next?

Hola Ploggers, how are you. We are going through a time in history that is truly 👀 unprecedented. We are living through the highs and lows as they happen. We don’t know the end game, but we cant stop watching the news, the internet and any news outlets that give us more information. Whether you like MSNBC, NPR, or Faux etc, there is lots of shocking news out of the Supreme Court. I find much of it to be hateful and ultra conservative and out of touch as usual. Their judgments seem to be very geared towards white nationalism. They also are judgments that take us back in time, just as if Civil Rights had never happened. The pendulum has swung so far to the right, it seems there is nowhere further to go. I have listed below some of the most heinous Supreme Court decisions. The first one on the list did not take any rights away from us. The other 4 most definitely did. This gives the high court 1:5 or 20% rate of protecting the civil rights of Americans. That is not👎 an impressive record.

Independent State Legislature Moore v Harper 👍

Affirmative Action Students for Fair Admission v Harvard and Univ of North Carolina 👎

Discrimination against LGBT Lori Smith v State of Colorado (Hypothetical)👎

Student Loan Debt Forgiveness Biden v Nebraska 👎

Women’s Right to Bodily Autonomy Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization 👎

I have heard pundits say that some of these cases will have to be over turned eventually. These pundits are looking at the disastrous results of cases like Dobbs. But I recently heard politicians vying for public office saying that they will scrap any diversity, equity and inclusion programs across the entire federal government. These comments were met with applause, wtf? Many of the people in the 👏 cheering audience had just recently lost a bevy of rights in the above listed cases. Yet they cheered at the promise to lose even more. So much confusion.

The title of this plog is “What’s next?” I don’t have a for sure answer to this question, but I do have a sincere and heartfelt wish. My most fervent desire is that the Millennials will save this country. This country is going through a painful but inevitable evolution. The reign of white, cis gendered males being in charge of everything is over. The majority numbers of the American population are turning brown, not white.

The Baby Boomers were born from 1946-1964. Approximately age 60 to 80.

Gen X is from 1965-1981. Approximately age 42 to 58.

The Millenials were born from the year 1981-1996. Age 27 to 42.

Gen Z kids are born from mid or late 1990’s to early 2010’s. These kids are age 13 to 33.

Alpha kids are born after 2010 and under. They are babies and are age 13 and under.

My hope is in the Millenials and Gen Z. Young people were taught with school Shooter drills with code words like "Dr. Suess is in the building". They were raised with computer and techy literacy and know how that we will never have. They live in a world with sexual fluidity and acceptance like we have never seen or imagined before. They have not been indoctrinated with years of white supremacy. They live in a multi-racial world. They 👀 see and believe in 🌿 Climate Change. Face it, they are different. I am praying to stay around and see the changes that are already starting in real time. The currently powerful are aware of these changes too. They will not 🚫 go out without a fight. They are amping up for a fight and in so many ways we are spectators to a losing regime. Those are the things that Civil wars are born from. Lord help us all to survive and let us be ready to RECLAIM!
